DESCRIPTION:
Rudolf Mayer, Germany, miniature Vienna style 8 days, timepiece, cast brass ornamental front attached to a wooden case with enamel beat scale, arch top with finial, back of top signed "Rud. Mayer Fec" and with his trade mark, glazed door with arched aperture, Roman numeral silvered dial with embossed, ornamented gilt center, the pendulum with matching embossed decoration, blued steel hands, brass timepiece movement with dead beat escapement, c1900
CONDITION:
Case good, dirty and with minor tarnish and discoloration, bottom soldered to lower molding, dial darkened and with loss of silver, center with gap and with minor losses to infill, movement ticking, suspension spring broken, pendulum with some discoloration. Note this small movement has a going barrel, and counting the barrel gear, has 6 wheels in the train, allowing it to run a full week on a 6" pendulum. Ht 16 1/2"
